It’s that time again… annual colonoscopy/endoscopy week thanks to Lynch Syndrome (MSH2 mutation). Ugh. Does anyone else find the prep gets HARDER each year, mentally? Just knowing what’s coming. Any tips for making the Golytely/Moviprep marathon slightly less miserable? Solidarity needed!

Oh Lisa, I am RIGHT there with you. Just did mine last month. The mental dread is real. Tips:

    • Chill the prep REALLY well.
    • Use a straw placed far back on your tongue.
    • Chase each glass with something clear you actually like (ginger ale, white grape juice, broth – check your doc’s list!).
    • Set timers for each dose so you don’t have to think about it.
    • Baby wipes and Calmoseptine/barrier cream are your friends.
    • Camp out in the bathroom with Netflix/books.
    • Solidarity! You’ve got this!

Thank you Linda! Misery loves company, right? Great tips, especially the straw and timer. And yes, barrier cream is essential! Good luck with your continued surveillance.
